Thanks for replying.  In answer to your question, The id for my reader and for Adobe digital editions are the same.  The passwords are different.

When the Adobe ID is the same its should works. Have you check the permission for the eBook itself. Open Digital Edition. Right click on the file and Choose Mediainfo.

When I click on item info, I get a response that the item is authorized to a different account..  When I try to read I get a response that authorization is required.  When I seek authorization and type in my adobe ID (an email address), I get a response that it is the incorrect account number.  It is one I set up long ago.   In addition when I first downloaded the book from the library, I opened it to read.  Now I can't.  I also cannot return the book.  At one time in my ordeal, I sought an Adobe ID again and received a response that the computer is authorized an id was issued but I wasn't told what it is.   At another time, I sought a an suthorization and tyoed the id I/ve historically used and I ws advised to try another id as the one I typd in was in use.  I've never had this type of difficulty before.  I am  doing this on a Windows 10 computer and I am using an Adobe ID set up using another pre Windows 10 computer.  Would that have anything to do with my problem?
