"authorize device" option when kobo reader is connected to ADE is greyed out?

same problem. reader is on the supported list. does anyone have a solution?

Same issue so I ended up downloading a book and copying that to my kobo and it authorized it for me.

My ereader is connected and I'm selecting the gear icon associated with the ereader and ALL of the options are greyed out. I'm now using version 3.0, as that was recommended as this was originally happening under version 4.5. but, I'm having the same problem with version 3.0 as well. This is really frustrating.
