Read purchased ebooks on 2 computers

I've purchased 2 ebooks, one on my laptop, one on my desktop.  Each opens on the computer where the purchase made, but not on the other. How do I get them to read on both computers?  The answer will help decide whether I buy an ebook this way ever again.

    Sorry this isn't an answer, hank, just wanted to note I have exactly the same problem and it's driving me crazy. Looking forward to an answer.
