Your iPad will NOT sync to the desktop version of ADE. The iPad is considered a mobile device, not a tethered device. There is a mobile version of ADE that you can download in the App Store. It's then possible to use iTunes to sync your existing ADE desktop library to your iPad. You must click on your device in iTunes and then to go the Apps section. From there you can see the devices installed on your device. You can click on ADE and select to choose files to save into ADE. Select the books from your ADE desktop library. ADE on your device should be able to read these books after you authorize ADE on your iPad.
