e-book download error message - DigitalEditions.exe - Bad Image

ADE was working fine 11 days ago, but have just tried downloading a new e-book only to receive this message -

DigitalEditions.exe - Bad Image

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\mscorwks.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error.

I've reloaded ADE, but this has not resolved the issue. I've also notice that only 1 of my store accounts is listed as being authorised, but it won't let me add other accounts. Can anyone help?

I have a similar message (DigitalEditions.exe - Bad Image), but for C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\atiumdag.dll. It only occurs on startup, giving me the same message 15 times but then working fine after that. This started after I applied some Windows updates:

    • Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3163207)
    • Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3152599)
    • Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3140741)

I uninstalled completely per Nanaky, clearing the document store and registry. I reinstalled v3 (I had been on v2) and reauthorized, but still the same behavior.

A error with Dll is a problem with the Operating system. Has you try to uninstall the last update of winodws and install the updates again?

Thanks, Nanaky. Turns out that C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\atiumdag.dll does not exist on my system (it is in SysWOW64 - the 64 bit version is atiumd64.dll). DigitalEditions.exe was not the only component complaining about it. ATI is my display driver (AMD Radeon on a Dell with Win 10 x64).

I have resolved the 64/32 bit issue by uninstalling/reinstalling the display drivers per C:\Windows\system32\atiumdag.dll is either not - Microsoft Community.  Guessing the problem was introduced by the Windows updates mentioned earlier. @gaylew88953900 may want to look at the .NET Framework 2.0 for a similar solution?

    Thanks, Bruce

Open Digital Edition directly. Then Go to File > add to Library and choose the ebook File.

You choose a Adobe to authorize Digital Edition. With this Adobe ID you allays open eBooks with all shops. You must not used the logins of you shops.

Hi Nanaky, the email from the book store has the e-book link. When I use the link I get the error message (listed above). I cannot download any e-books from any store to ADE. I tried downloading the free library on the Adobe site, but got the same error message.

Get you the error message first when you download or also when try to start Digital Edition?
