I have Adobe CC installed on two machines (laptop and desktop) one with v 5.0.0.354 and the other with v 4.9.0.504. The up-to-date one asked me to update like two months ago and the latter never updated and I see no way to update it. This service is expensive and I'd like to keep everything up to date.
The installer is for 64bit operating system, your desktop is only 32bit, as far as I'm aware the CC app version 5 requires a 64bit operating system

There are two ways to update that I know of.
One is to open the Creative Cloud desktop application and click Updates in the left panel, under APPS. It should then show you the programs with updates available in the right panel. Click Update all and they'll all update (although it could take a while).
The other way is to open the individual program and click Help in the menu bar, then click Updates. That should let you install updates for that program.
As to why it isn't happening automatically, did you check your settings and enable the "Always keep Creative Cloud up to date" option? If that is enabled already, you may need to contact Customer Support, or maybe someone else here will have an idea about what's going on.

Thanks for your reply. My issue doesn't seem to with keeping the apps up to date (PS, Ill, DW, etc.) but rather the Creative Cloud Desktop. The one on my laptop (up-to date) is a nice full screen version while the out-of-date version is the small rectangled box one and there are no options I can find to update it. I'm pretty sure I was prompted to, if not required to, do the update in October but that prompt has never occurred on the desktop version.

What operating system version do you have on the desktop, try downloading the CC app from here

You can use this tool to remove the older version if your OS is compatible with the newer version

No luck. Did the download link first and ended up with the ver 4.9x again and then did the uninstall link (completed, but did say it was 'with errors'). I then did the download link again and that took some time but but in the end I still have ver 4.9x.

Did you use this option, it's giving me the most recent version, what exact Windows 10 build do you have

Windows info:
Laptop (with 5.0x) is Win 10 Home - 64 bit - 18362.535 build
Desktop (with 4.9x) is Win 10 Pro - 32 bit - 18362.535 build
