Activating Adobe Lightroom CC on a new device

Dear all,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I had bought the Lightroom software a few months ago and have been using it on my laptop. I have now bought a new laptop and was looking to install the software again but when I try to put the code in, a message comes up telling me that the code has been redeemed already.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance.

Maria

Go to https://accounts.adobe.com/ and click Plans & Products on the top bar

-then click VIEW YOUR PRODUCTS on the right to find a list of your programs and serial numbers

Thank you all very much for taking the time to reply.

The answer was in a combination of things. I managed to access my account  with John's suggested link and deactivated the old device. This seems to have worked so problem solved!

Many thanks again,

Maria

if you still have your old laptop with lr 6 installed, you can recover your serial number from it and then use that number to install lr 6 on your new computer.

to recover:  https://mac-product-key-finder.com/

to reinstall, use lr 6.10 with that serial number (and secure your serial number for future use).  also, if you no long need lr 6 on your old computer deactivate it (help>deactivate) and then uninstall it.

Downloadable installation files available:

Download and installation help for Adobe links

Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

Many thanks to both of you for your replies. I am talking about Lightroom CC and I can't actually remember whether a serial number was given to me when I redeemed the code which I guess doesn't help. I was expecting though that when I entered my Adobe account, the system would "remember" that I have a year's access to Lightroom and Photoshop but it doesn't seem to.

LR cc does not use a serial number or even a redemption code. It is the Subscription based version of LR and only needs you to enter the Adobe ID, and email address and password, that was used to purchase the subscription.

The question is did you buy a subscription to the Photographers plan (CC), that included both LR and PS, or did you buy the stand alone version of LR, LR 6, at a one time charge.

CC version is tied to your Adobe ID.

LR 6 stand alone needs a serial number to activate.

If you got a Redemption code that you had to enter into an Adobe web site to get a valid serial number then you have the stand alone perpetual licensed version, LR 6, and you will need to use that same serial number when installing the program.

Do you mean Lightroom CC [Cloud] which does not use a serial number... or Lightroom 6 which does use a serial number?

When you REDEEMED the Redemption code you got a 24 character serial number that started with 1160 and is all numbers, no letter characters. That is what you use during the install of LR.

Hopefully you recorded that serial number.
