I have attempted to activate CS4 Creative Suite on my Mac. It tells me the serial number is not valid.

TBrianCox, I am sorry for any confusion but it appears you are attempting to install an education version of Creative Suite 4 Design Premium for Mac OS.  The retail installation files that are available at Download Adobe Creative Suite 4 (CS4) products will not accept the educational serial number and it will be seen as invalid.

If you need to reinstall Creative Suite 4 Design Premium then you will need to use the installation files provided with your purchase.  In addition, if you are installing Creative Suite 4 on macOS 10.12 or later then you will also need to implement the workaround listed in Installing Creative Suite on macOS 10.12 (Sierra) to begin the installation process.
