Add-On installation problem in Animate CC

Hello,

I am trying to install the Snap.svg Animator Add-on from the Adobe Add-Ons page:

https://creative.adobe.com/addons/patches/26811

The first time I "purchased" the Add-on (it's a free Add-on) I got a message telling me to get the Creative Cloud Desktop App.

Which I already have installed (latest version 3.8.0.310).

After a while in the Activity Stream this error message appears: "Installation failed, could not validate license online".

I tried removing the Add-on from the "My Add-ons" page and reinstalling it again, but this does not work and it doesn't even produce a new entry in the Activity Stream now.

I also tried logging off and on in the Creative Cloud Desktop App as well as restarting Windows.

I have a valid Creative Cloud license, so this shouldn't be a problem.

I am behind a proxy, but for the installation of all Creative Cloud Apps (e.g. Photoshop, Animate, Illustrator etc.) this was no issue since I could determine my proxy authentication credentials.

Clicking on the error message in the Activity Stream directs me to an Extension Manager troubleshooting page, where my particular error only refers to this forum.

So I hope there's anybody out there who can help me with this.

As an additional info: I also tried two other free Add-ons with the same result. One was for Animate CC and the other one for Photoshop.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you kglad.

I downloaded the zxp file from github:

https://github.com/cjgammon/SnapSVG-Animator

Then I followed the instructions on this page:

Installing ZXP extensions using the Manage Extensions utility | Adobe Animate Team Blog

Before, I had tried to install the zxp file using the Extension Manager CC, but this was not working. It even says on the Adobe page that with CC2015 you should no longer use the Extension Manager.

But the Manage Extension utility is working for me.

Still don't get why

there's an alternative direct install of the zxp file from github.

Still don't get why the automatic install via the website and with the CC Desktop App isn't working though.

But I'll use this workaround for now as long as there is a zxp file available for direct download.
