Question

adobe acc installer and catalina beta

Just installed latest Catalina Beta, August 19, Lightroom Classic and Acrobat Pro DC seem to be working fine.

Getting a pop up - "com.adobe.acc.installer.v2" can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.  Click the OK box, and it reappears.  No matter how many times I click the box - it reappears.  Leaving it alone, and putting it down in a corner, is a work-around, as it does not seem to be degrading performance.

Reluctant to uninstall and re-install Creative Cloud, just now.

Anyone else having this issue, and/or have a solution.

Thanks

I just upgraded to the newest version of Catalina and now having the same message as well as other issues with my Macbook such as 4 icons with white circle and bar across it and cannot open my Sonos any more. I want to revert to former version and hope it rids of this message.

Adobe had issued a stable release CC 2019 (I enjoyed the new design 🙂 on October 2011 and this issue had been fixed in consequence. Before macOS Catalina, we can download .dmg or .pkg or plugin files and install on your Mac. But the current macOS checks the following when you install Adobe CC from the third-party websites:

1. Check it is a trusted software using Gatekeeper technology.
2. Verify the identity of the developer using Developer ID in the installer package.
3. macOS Catalina also needs the developer to notarize the apps for trustworthy [This is the reason macOS Catalina failed to open Adobe CC].

Certainly it's a mistake that Apple cannot Adobe for malicious software. But you can bypass this new macOS gateway by opening the app through System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Check Allow apps downloaded from App Store and identified developers > Click Open Anyway.

If it still doesn't work, I suggest you to right mouse click on Adobe installer > You should get an Open option in context menu: Select Open.

Hello,

I updated my Macbook Pro to the Beta version of Catalina and since then I found out that my Creative Cloud Lightroom suddenly disappears and a pop comes out to reopen. This is something to do with the Beta update. should i roll back to the older version of MOS ??, Please advice

The official public release version of Catalina won't be out until this Fall.  You should NOT upgrade to Catalina on a production machine until you are fully committed to 64-bit apps including installers, helper apps & add-ons.   See related links below.

Thanks very much - I was pretty sure it was an old 32 bit app - just annoying.  And … not on my production machine!

Adobe has not released all new programs for the 64bit Catalina... so SOME programs are still 32bit and will not work

Thanks John

Was pretty sure it was a 32 bit remnant - just trying to get rid of the annoying pop up.  Thankfully not my production computer.

I'm getting the same annoying pop up msg every few seconds on my new MacBook Pro.  I decided to uninstall the Adobe apps, but the msg persists!
