Adobe.com BREACH. Identity Stolen.

Hi, I just had my identity stole and through my CreditWise app for Capital One, I saw that my email address was found on the Dark Web and that my information was stolen through a breach in Adobe.com. HAS ANYONE ELSE GOTTEN THIS NOTIFICATION BEFORE AND FOUND THAT THEIR INFORMATION WAS STOLEN VIA ADOBE.COM? I imagine that the information on my credit report is correct. So what do I do now? Regarding the breach of information through Adobe's website???? I called Adobe directly and they were highly unhelpful over the phone and told me I had to post a forum... so someone please help me! I've already been through all of the Identity Theft crap but this is the last part of the absurd situation I'm in that I've needed to address. Thanks for all replies in advance. Also - please don't be rude to me... I've never ever been in this situation before and I would never make this up - my credit file literally says my information was stolen through a breach in Adobe's website. SEE PHOTO.

YES ADOBE WAS HACKED IN EARLY OCTOBER 2018.

How do we know? Because we gave Adobe an exclusive email address, namely ADOBE@OURDOMAIN. No one but Adobe knows about this address.

Since 8 October 2018 we have received many unsolicited offers written to ADOBE@OURDOMAIN and we also advised Adobe but they didn't reply.

We have even been offered for sale a list of active Adobe clients with all associated personal details.

This first began on 8 October 2018. Two months later and I have not found any declaration from Adobe. Probably they will moderate and delete this post.

As an Adobe customer I'm obviously concerned if there is a new hack. Adobe owned up to a huge hack around October 2013. "At least 38 million" Adobe hack: At least 38 million accounts breached - BBC News

Is it possible that your account was set up before then? Just because you started getting spam around October 2018 it doesn't mean that the hack happened then. Lists of stolen accounts can circulate for years before they are sold or used.

Not a chance. The domain is only a couple of years old and our Creative Cloud account is only about 1 year old. This was a fresh hack and took our details from our Creative Cloud subscription.

Your information was NOT stolen, you got a spam e-mail.

Anything that says"the dark web" is spam/scam.

Wrong mr know it all. I got the same exact msg on my Capital One secure banking page under their credit wise section. Not an email. Under full SSL at Capital One site. Adobe was breached, your data is out there if you have an Adobe account.

Adobe had a big breach a couple of years ago, and banking sites are integrating services which will cross-check your information with email addresses in their "dark web" database of email addresses which are known to have been compromised in those breaches.

I believe you have to activate these services, but you may have done so inadvertently.

Anyway, anyone can cross-check their email address with known breached databases via this website:

https://haveibeenpwned.com/

HaveIBeenPwned lists all the companies and the exact information that was exposed for each breach.

As always, even if your email is listed, don't panic, because changes are you have already been asked to change your password by said company at the time it was discovered.

Of course it goes without saying that if you NEVER changed your password since one of these breaches occurred, you WILL leave your account(s) open to attacks. It happened to family members and friends of mine who kept using the same password for years and years. Change your password at least every six months, if not more often. And NEVER use the same password twice for different online services.
