Adobe creative cloud won't update: Another installer is currently running (Error code: 87)

I am trying to install photoshop and lightroom but need to update creative cloud first, but every time I try I get this message: Another installer is currently running, which must be closed before updating this product. Please close other installers.(Error code: 87) Contact Customer Support

There are no other installers running, closing all other applications doesn't affect the issue and I get the same error message

Has anybody else had this issue, or know of anything I could try to resolve the issue?

I had the same issue and doing a ram reset fix the problem for me.

Scottster246 have you tried rebooting your computer to see if you experience the same error?  What operating system are you using?

I've rebooted and nothing changes, I've now uninstalled it but when trying to reinstall it I get the same error as before

I'm using windows 8

Scottster246 thank you for the screen shot.  I would recommend trying the steps listed in Error "Failed to Install" Creative Cloud Desktop application - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/failed-install-creative-cloud-desktop.html.  If you can please update this discussion with the results it would be appreciated.
