Dear Adobe Friends.
I own the license to Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium for many years and have recently recieved a pop up "Temporary Activation Expired" You must re-activate to use this product.
Can someone please advise how I can fix this problem in the simplest way possible and why this is happening?
Thank you, much appreciated. I work on Windows 10 and have recently installed CS3 a few months ago and the product was working fine until I recently had this interruption from Adobe that I need to re-activate product in order use this product.
Looking forward to your reply. Thank you!
Adobe has retired their CS3 activation servers. You must now uninstall your existing CS3 which requires activation.
You then obtain a new non-activation version of CS3 and a new non-activation serial number from Adobe by following this procedure:
Activation or connection error when starting CS3 or Acrobat 8
To reiterate, your existing serial number will no longer work. You must use the new non-activation serial number which you obtain from Adobe.

Eva, to be honest, I would not risk using such an older version of Acrobat on my computer. You may want to look at utilizing Adobe Reader if you don't often edit PDFs. You can find a link to download and install the current release of Adobe Reader at Adobe Acrobat Reader
If you do edit PDF files then you may want to look at purchasing Acrobat Pro DC. There are a number of options available at Adobe Acrobat DC | Adobe Document Cloud .
Acrobat 9 has not received any security updates for several years. It is likely there are open exploits which could be utilized to leave the computer vulnerable.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your prompt reply. As you may have noticed by now I am very ignorant when it comes to the computer world. I know how to draw and design and use Adobe Creative but beyond that I am not technically proficient at all.
Ok so let me try to understand because I really don't even understand what Adobepdf.dll means and what its function is however if I understand you correctly I should upgrade and install Adobe Acrobat DC through the website. Question:
A)Which option should I get?
B) What should I do with the current Acrobat 8 that is currently installed with the old CS3 suite?
C) How will installing the Acrobat DC affect the Acrobat 8 that is currently installed?
C) Will the Acorbat DC be compatible with the old CS3 suite?
I hope that I am not overstepping my limit of questions I can ask you but I really do not know what I am doing. Your help is so appreciated!

Eva for any questions related to Acrobat I would strongly recommend starting a discussion in the Installing, Updating, & Subscribing to Acrobat forum at Installing, Updating, & Subscribing to Acrobat .
The community in that forum is better able to answer your questions related to Acrobat 8 and DC. I have also seen other individuals who have been able to resolve the Adobepdf.dll error, that you have been experiencing, by posting to that forum.

Hi Jeff,
I will pose my question to the forum you have suggested regarding Acrobat 8 and DC.
Regarding the Adobepdf.dll error as mentioned in previous post #27, the only reply I received was the one that suggested that if Suite is working to "leave it" however as mentioned I don't know how comfortable I was with that reply so not really sure how to resolve this one issue at this point......
In any event I will inquire regarding the Acrobat DC. Thank you for your help!

Acrobat Pro DC is NOT compatible with CS3 I found out from the (Adobe Acrobat DC | Adobe Document Cloud ). I would have to subscribe to Creative Cloud which has a monthly premium. Well I don't know what I am going to do now...... Getting frustrating. Anyway I reached out to the other forum with all my questions. Let's see what they say.
Thank you!
