Hello,

I am thinking about buying a new Imac. This means I will be working on El Capitan.

Will Adobe CS5 work on El Capitan?

When I google this, the answers date back to 2015, no recent information on this.

And of course the impact of this decision is rather big...

Can someone (from Adobe) shed some light on this ?

thanks everybody !!

    Correct answer Jeffrey_A_Wright

i would like to contact an Adobe employee on this to have an official answer, but that seems to be very difficult to achieve...

How can i get some official help ? I don't seem to be able to enter chat support ?

Eneasmentzel the last update for Creative Suite 5 was released long before Mac OS 10.11 was developed.  You are welcome to try installing the software.  If you run into any specific problems with running the applications then I would recommend posting those errors in the forum specific to that software title.  The community in the respective forum may have discovered workarounds to allow the older application to function under a modern operating system.  You can find a list of available forums at https://forums.adobe.com/welcome..

I would also recommend reviewing Mac OS X El Capitan (10.11) compatibility FAQs | CC  which discusses Mac OS 10.11 compatibility .  You can also find links to statements for particular software titles such as Photoshop.

    Yes, CS5 works on 10.11.3  (MacPro 2009).

    Thx Depotech!

    And it completely works ?

When I google I only read about problems and issues.

Some say Photoshop works fine, but Illustrator doesn't and so on and so on...

Could it make a difference if the Imac is newer than 2009? Caus it would be a brand new one.

Would it make a difference if i use an i5 or i7 processor ?

Is it offcially compatible with El Capitan or is it still a risk to try this ?
