Adobe CS6 Uninstall challenge

Hello all, I have used Adobe CS6 on my iMac for several years, aware of the fact iOS Mojave is the last iOS that is compatible with this version of the Creative Suite. Because I am now starting to have issues with all manner of things on my Mac, I have to update the opera,ting system. I have to remove CS6. but I need to remove it completely before i install the latest iOS. Can anyone offer advice on the best practice for doing this as I am struggling to find a straight forward solution. 

Any advice from people who have done the same would be appreciated

are you intending to try and reinstall it again on any computer?

Hi, thanks for your reply. No, I am planning to remove the entire software package as it is not compatible with the iOS I plan to install, once I have removed it. I'm keen to make sure I do this as throroughly as possible. I've a seen a variety of 'How To' videos etc and they all start by saying: Use the unistall tool. For some reason, I don't have that tool, so in the absence of that I need advice!

open a cs6 app, click help > deactivate.

you can then use adobe's cleaner to remove your cs6, http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

I am on Windows, but I will GUESS the steps will be the same for a Mac

1 - go to Help and DE-activate

2 - use the included UN-install routine

3 - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html to remove program traces

Hi John, thanks for your reply. The dilemma I have is that the Uninstall tool that should (according to all the instructions I've seen) normally be in the Applications folder, isn't there. All the 'How to' information I've seen, says, use the Uninstall tool. Because the process is quite involved, I'm loath to do anything until I understand a) why I dont thave that tool and b) what I should do in the absence of it. I appreciate is sounds a bit pedantic!

If you don't have the uninstall tool, you could try running the CC Cleaner tool: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html .

If you go to Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers is the Uninstall Adobe Photoshop CS6 there?

Or look in Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Uninstall/{74EB3499-8B95-4B5C-96EB-7B342F3FDOC6}.app

Hi Jeff, thankyou for your repy, I have now resloved the issue and have uninstalled the software. The Uninstall process was hidden but now found!!!

Hi again Jeff, further to the uninstallation of my CS6, I am now wondering if I have been a bit premature. I want to pass my CS6 onto someone  else, but need to make sure the licences are deactivated before doing that. I have contacted Adobe and they have not been very helpful thus far. From what I understand from them, I have to reinstall iOS Mojave, reinstall the CS6 discs, then Deactivate the licences, then uninstall CS6 again, then reinstall iOS Sonoma. Even if that is possible it seems a pretty ludicrous thing to have to do. Do you know if this is the case?

yes, you must deactivate before removing if you intend to reinstall.  that's why, last week, i posted 

open a cs6 app, click help > deactivate.

to deactivate after removal is problematic but may be possible by following the advice of adobe support: reinstall cs6, open an app, click help > deactivate. 

if deactivate is not clickable, you're out of luck.  there's no other way to regain an activation (unless you have a 2nd computer with cs6 activated). ie, you must deactivate using a computer with an activated version.
