I have the older versions but do use the current one via subscription. So are the older ones like cs3, cs4 and so used? Also these are my licensed versions so can I sell them? If yes what should I be aware of before I place them online like ebay, craigslist or other places?

Thanks

Transfer an Adobe product license

For the most part it's pretty pointless, though. Those old versions do not run on current versions of OSX, at least not without major technical issues, so they are mostly useless.

Thanks for such a fast response. I am cleaning out my studio of things that well are just collecting dust so before I just trash them I thought to research this. Sound like throwing them out is the best thing since the current OS on my mac couldn't run it and I certainly don't want to go backwards.

Thanks again.

One thing to bear in mind is that anything you used for an upgrade cannot be separated. For example, if you upgraded CS3 to CS4, the buyer must buy BOTH or CS4 is useless. The old serial number is required, and you need to be sure to transfer both.

Yes you can sell your older software, but its not as easy as you may think. Adobe has a transfer of ownership form that you and also the buyer must complete. They also require I believe photoID to prove you are who you say you are. The whole process takes 4-6 weeks to complete and then Adobe will register the software to the new owner. Selling on eBay should be no problem if you price the software correctly. I imagine CS6 is still attractive second hand , but CS4 and CS3 are between 8 and 10 years old now and are bound to have limited appeal. You may also find potential buyers are suspicious that you may be a pirate and require guarantees from you.

Hope that helps
