Thanks for the link however that is the exact location/ process I used to find the serial number. PSE 7 was downloaded via the web as I do not / did not have a laptop that has a cd/dvd drive.
As indicated, I iniatially contacted Adobe help services directly via their online chat. After sharing info with the rep, I was told the software was no longer supported. I was then instructed to post to this forum, where the question would potentially be answered from a rep here or the Adobe crowd.
I am hoping someone else has experienced this problem and found a viable solution. (However, when I look through the feeds related to PSE 7, none of them are marked solved.)
Amccollum123 I am sorry that you unable to install Photoshop Elements 7. As Kglad and Jeff Arola have indicated the red x means that the serial number you are using is not accepted by the installer.
The installation files available for Photoshop Elements 7 at Download Photoshop Elements versions 9, 8, 7 are for retail licenses of Photoshop Elements 7 only. The serial number registered under your account, at http://www.adobe.com/, is for an OEM version of Photoshop Elements 7 for Windows. This means that you purchase Photoshop Elements 7 as part of a bundle. It could have been bundled with a camera, scanner, printer, or computer.
You will need to locate the installation files that were provided as part of the bundle. I can see that you registered Photoshop Elements 7 on 6-26-2012. I would recommend looking at any major purchases, you made during that time. to determine what item included Photoshop Elements 7.0.
For additional details on how to locate your registered serial numbers see Find your serial number.
Finally Amccollum123, I have confirmed that your license of Photoshop Elements 7 does not include activation technology so you do not need to be concerned about activation.
