I'm trying to install Photoshop 2026, but it's incompatible. It says a processor with Advanced Vector Extensions X (AVX2) support is required.

check specs to confirm and see if the previous verison is compatible, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/system-requirements.html

This has nothing to do with Windows 10, AVX2 is a hardware feature of current processor chips. Its mostly old or very low-end computers that wouldn't support AVX2.

Elements 2026 requires Windows 11 (ver 23H2) or higher. See the system requirements below.

If you don't have a supporting device, you'll need to exchange Elements 2026 for 2025.

I think the OP is mistaken.
Read the System Requirements for BOTH Photoshop & PS Elements 2026. They are different.

The OP's screenshot is definitely about Photoshop 2026 (ps ver 27) not being compatible with their system.
It is not Photoshop Elements.
rough translation of what it says in the screenshot
"The latest version of Photoshop (27.0) You must update the system to install Photoshop. Please check the following items: - A processor with advanced vector extension instruction set 2 (AVX2) is required."

Flawless_Odessey6941,
What make and model computer do you have?
Sometimes AVX2 support is a Bios setting.
