Adobe products now saving as .tiff and not .tif

How you I set the default back to be .tif? Thanks!

We needed 3-letter extensions when DOS and early Windows computers required them, but that changed a long time ago. May I ask why you need only the three letters of the four words?

Our programmers software doesn't recognize the .tiff. Everything used to save as .tif w/o having to physically change it; but, the last update has everything saving as .tiff instead of the way it was before (.tif). I want to default back to the .tif but cannot find a setting in any of the preferences.

What software? Photoshop? Illustrator? Something else?

usually you click file>save as.

if you want to change your preferences, that's usually edit>preferences.

if that doesn't help and you want help with a particular adobe program, post in that program's forum.
