LG  Maibrid

When you try to activate the program, do you see a QR code that you can use to activate?  See this HelpX article.

@Greg_S. thanks for tagging me!

@Maibrid27612240sr2z First, Adobe does not provide support via private message, and we have our own domain; we do not use Outlook.com. Please report the message if you have not done so already.

I checked the activation history for your registered copy of Photoshop 2018, and I don't see any recent activation requests. Are you trying to install Photoshop Elements 2018 or 2020? If it is 2020, please register the software under the account you used to post to this public discussion forum. Please see https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/find-serial-number.html for information on how to register the serial number.

@Maibrid27612240sr2z did you transfer any files or applications from the crashed computer to this computer, or is this a fresh installation? If the licensing and activation files are transferred from one computer to another, then the computer can think that the number of allowable activations has been exceeded without contacting us. You can use the CC Cleaner Tool as described in https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/elements-installation-error-CC-cleaner-tool.html to try to remove these critical files.

If you need a fresh copy of the installation files, you can download them from your account. See https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/downloaded-older-app.html for more information on downloading installation files for registered Adobe software.

Hi Jeff, thanks for writing (talking) to me  🙂

Well, as far as I know, the software is still registered to my account, can make a screenshot if you like.

After I got access to my crashed computer again, didn`t know about the rules regarding a 3rd device, thought that as one was deactivated, I could use the program on the other device, which was working fine. As I couldn`t sell the old (now restored) PC, wanted to use it as back-up, just in case if the newly bought PC would crash too.

Am not able to do anything now, your system is telling me that no device of mine is "attached", while showing me both softwares (PhotoShop Elements 2020 and Premiere Elements 2020) as registered. Deactivation from my side not possible too, as mentioned before. Your supportchat employees wrote, that the software is programmed, so if the limit of activation is reached, it will function no more. Don`t know if this is wise, but guess Adobe got their reason for doing it.  Hope that you could understand my english, as it`s not my 1st language, but better than Google Translator...maybe  😉

Thanks in advance and best wishes from Hamburg                                                                                                                  Maibrid

Who was the PM from?  Please post a link to the person who sent you a PM.

It is more likely to be a scammer than an actual Adobe employee.
