When trying to install Adobe Lightroom 6 on my new computer, with Windows 10, I am getting the following message. "Another installer is currently running, which must be closed before installing this product. Please close other installers." I do not have anything else running. I have shut down my system and upon starting up again, immediately try the install. I get the same message. Any suggestions?

...Hi all, I know this is an old post, but since this is a recent error many people are stumbling upon as "Error 87", I'd like to share this tutorial, as any solution I found in these pages didn't work for me:
I found this video here that allows you to "reset" only your operating system, without touching your files and without having to fully wipe your machine. This fixed my "Another Installer is Already Running" error 87. Do back up your file just to be on the safe side!

If the stop button is grayed out. Hit alt, ctrl, delete. Go to services, find windows installer, hit the stop service button, and shut down. When aging install it will walk you through cleaning up the old (bad) install and start the new install.

Hi
Tried the three methods but didn't work
1) Windows key + R, type services.msc and press Enter. Double click on Windows Installer and in General tab, click on Stop. Click on Apply and OK. >>> Stop is grey
2) alt, ctrl, delete. Go to services, find windows installer, hit the stop service button, and shut down >>> This operation could not complete, The requested control is not valid for this service
3) Control Panel - view by Small icons- Administrative tools -Services- Windows Installer - Right click - Stop >>> Stop is grey
What can I do?
Try installing Premier Elements 2020
Thanks

restart your computer and retry whatever you're doing.
if that fails, reset the cc desktop app:
make sure it's in the foreground, then press:
Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R
if that fails, repair per
https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html
if that fails, uninstall using the correct uninstaller from
https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes...
and then reinstall*
if that fails, do a clean cc install carefully following each applicable step:
uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html
then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes...
clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
check for, and if available, update your os
repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired
update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated
restart your computer (don't skip this)
reinstall the cc desktop app*
*use the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html
use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

No problem, one thing I forgot to mention here, if people are trying to fix the Error 87, after you are done resetting your OS, if you get error 87 again. restart your pc one more time, and then run the Adobe installer/updates (or at least this is what happened to me, weirdly!).
