Application Manager "download error" even after using Cleaner Tool

I have Creative Cloud working on my primary computer and am trying to get it going on my laptop, a MacBook Pro on which I just installed Mountain Lion OSx.

I have not been able to install the Adobe Application Manager to start some software downloads. I get a window that pops up after the installer starts that says "Download Error. Contact Customer Support", then a button below that says "QUIT".

After reading a few posts about this, I tried the Cleaner Tool and restarted the computer.

After restart, I get the same problem and am not sure what to do next.

I am logged into Creative Cloud.

Any ideas?

I am also having the exact same issue. Have been trying to call Support all day, been on hold for hours. Got through to Chat Support. Told me to use Cleaner to uninstall all my apps. Went to re-install the apps but still cant get past this error - Adobe Application MAnager will not install. Any answers?

Ufo123456 so the exact error you are receiving is, "Download Error. Contact Customer Support"?  Also what version of Mac OS are you using?  Have you tried implementing the suggestion offered in message #1 of this discussion?

Case #0184092832: Chat:CCM download issue (CH59284870)

I just uninstalled all my cc apps - reinstalled app manager 6-1.2 and I am getting the same error when attempting to download as before

(now I have no apps to work with on my laptop)

Do you have any other Adobe Creative software currently installed?  If so please uninstall them from Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.  Once you have removed all of your Adobe Creative Software please delete the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Application Manager folder.  You can then try the installation again from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774.

Jeff,

I deleted the Adobe folder you described, then followed the link to the download. I saved the file, then opened it and ran the installer. The same error message appeared.

Can anyone advise me on how to get support for this beyond the Forums; I don't seem to be able to get this resolved. I have tried it multiple times and nothing changes.
