Backup Adobe Programs to install on another PC

Neu hier ,

I want to backup my Adobe programs so that when I migrate to my new PC I dont have to re-download them again from the Creative Cloud. My internet is not good.

Now, I know this was answered here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/get-started/adobe-cc-apps-backup-and-install-to-new-machine/m-p/54721...

However, there are no download links for CC 2020 (and it's April). Any other way to do this? Steam let's you backup games, Adobe should really have a function like this. Please help.

Not possible as far as I know.

That is unless the new computer is basically the exact same type of system and you image your current system and then load that image on the newer computer. And it does not popup all kinds of Errors about being on a system it does not recognize.

Thanks for the swift reply! Well, that sucks, I don't know what you think but this should really be a feature imo.

Why? Most people don't change computers unless the one they are currently using fails.

So at that point there is no chance of doing a full system backup.

Apple does have Time machine and a system to restore a TM backup to another Mac. But IIRC it doesn't work for most programs, only user data and settings.

If you are on a Paid by use Internet connection go to a friends house or Internet Cafe to do the downloads.

As far as I know, many programs (including those from Adobe) create a hidden registration file during install... so unless a backup program captures that hidden file, as well as every piece of the program in the program and all "common" folders, restoring to a new drive won't work

This is a public forum with "some" Adobe staff participation, use the links below to make a request

The product I bought and use to make a full drive backup is at http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm

Image runs off of a bootable CD via Linux (the Zip you download includes a program to make the bootable CD) and it reads EVERYTHING on the drive, even the hidden registration information, so everything is restored when needed... and you may not only restore the image over a messed up install, you may restore to a brand new drive in case of a hardware crash, and not have to re-install anything

I have never done so, but I think restoring to a completely different computer will require Windows to re-register itself when it detects new hardware... you should go to the Search bar at the top of http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx to find Microsoft articles about Windows and hardware changes

My older version of Image DOES require it to be an identical drive, so check the site to see if the current version will allow restoring to a different size drive

AKTUELL

Decent Internet access is a major requirement.  You can't really use Creative Cloud apps & services without it.  See the minimum system requirements to run Creative Cloud + all other apps you intend to use.
