Best Disk Cloning Options

New Here ,

Have an ageing Win7 SSD running CC.

Wish to clone my C: drive to another drive for backup asap. Research indicates that  Acronis now seems to be full of background bloat, and unstoppable cloud functions etc. Browsing CC forums seems to indicate that www.terabyteunlimited.com seems to be the best choice for CC cloning.

The forum posts I found are a few years old, is terabyteunlimited still the recommended cloning software?

Finally have a break and will move all production to a new drive and Win.10 soon. I understand that all CC software must be reinstalled after clone to function.

Thanks in advance for anyone's time on this.

The product I bought and use is at http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm

The bootable Linux CD created runs on its own, and clones my SSD to an image file on another drive... be that internal or external USB

The older version I have will only restore to the exact same size drive... the new version may be more flexible

I have actually done a backup twice... once on my computer when I had an install go bad, and once on my wife's computer

Thanks for the reply. I'll drop by that site and get more information.

It would be nice to be able to use different size drives.

One might think this would be a standard situation that Adobe users would encounter fairly regularly.

Cheers.

I use this free tool:

https://www.aomeitech.com/ab/standard.html

You can clone to different sizes.

Here is a comparison of that and the paid versions:

Well, I have used AOMEI Partition Assistant to copy HDD to smaller SSD and it works well. I have got detailed instruction from this article: https://www.disk-partition.com/articles/clone-old-hard-drive-to-a-smaller-ssd-6289.html
