Buying Lightroom without a monthly fee

Hi All,

I'm only using Lightroom 3-4 times a year when I return from dive trips to enhancing my photos.

Since I'm not using Lightroom very often, I would like to buy the program once and for all without having to pay a monthly fee. Is that possible and what are the conditions (program update etc.).

Thanks in advance.

Klaus

I can imagine that I will have to pay for update when a new major version (LR5, LR6 etc.) is released, but what about minor updates from time to time?

Adobe releases updates for the current version which is LR6. We are now at version LR6.8

There is no charge for the dot releases after original purchase. The updates typically provide support for new cameras and bug fixes.

Adobe only provides new features for subscribers to LR CC.

There are no more updates for LR5 or older versions.

If you meet the system requirements, you can buy LR6 from the following link. After clicking "Buy" change from Full to Upgrade if you have a previous version; then select your existing LR product from the drop-down menu and the correct pricing will be displayed. Then simply choose “Add to Cart”

What program update rules apply, can I upgrade when new version of Lightroom is released?

Yes you can upgrade from any previous version e.g. LR1 through LR5

I have no idea if LR7 is coming.
