Can I delete Adobe Application Updater or Adobe Application Manager app?

I'm subscribed to Creative Cloud and have both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom Classic installed on my MacBook Pro. Adobe's installers have also installed both Adobe Application Updater AND Adobe Application Manager apps. Both seem to overlap in what they do. Can I delete one of them and if so which one?

I asked in Adobe's chat support and was horrified that this simple question had not only zero resolve but demonstrated a lack of knowledge by the rep who was probably reading off a very limited workflow script.

the cc desktop app (which can be called the adobe application manager) is recommended, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud

it's not clear what you're calling the adobe application updater and adobe application manager so it's hard to give you a direct answer.

Looks like I should just do updates via Adobe Creative Cloud app.

On my Mac Adobe installs these two apps: Adobe Application Updater AND Adobe Application Manager which both seem to fuction in updating Adobe applications on my Mac. But now it appears that it's yet a third app, Creative Cloud Desktop with should be used to do updates.

When launching apps on my Mac I just do a search (Command+Spacebar, or Option+Spacebar via Alfred) for the word 'Adobe' and those apps show-up in the list of applications to launch.

Those two applications are applications created by Adobe and installed by Adobe when using their products. Launching either one will bring up a list of installed Adobe applications and buttons to update the products. Maybe some of them are deprecated and replaced by Creative Cloud Desktop app so it's weird that Adobe installs these extra applications.

both of those were installed by older adobe applications. because there are no more updates for older adobe programs, the older updater won't do anything useful and neither will the older adobe application manager.

before deleting anything (especially for mac users), it's prudent to rename the programs. test for a few weeks (including a restart) and if no problems are noticed, you can delete (but look for an uninstaller first).

since cc was introduced, only the cc desktop app is installed and that's used to manage and update adobe cc programs.
