Question

Can I still register my CS3 so I can get the updates?

I deregistered and uninstalled my CS3 since I've been using CS6 for a while now, but I installed it on my kids' iMac so they can start geting familiar with Adobe.  However, when I try to re-register on the new machine, it tells me I have no internet connection.  Now, I clearly have an internet connection (as evidenced by this post) so I'm wondering if registration has been disabled for CS3.  I guess I can live without registering, but I was really hoping to get the software updates and that's telling me theres no connection also.  Thoughts?

Hmmm... all the connectivity stuff chcks out, but I don't seem to have the certificate. In fact I don't seem to have ANY certificates. That seems odd. Thanks for the link though that was definitely the right place to start...

UPDATE: I'm dumb, but I found it. and it's valid. I'll see if can do it offline? But it may be too old for that. it says it's only for CS5-6. I think i may try the chat. sigh.

Okay well the chat representative says no way; they won't let me reregister something that old. Pretty annoying since I just uninstalled it from the machine it's been on for 5 years, where it was registered and had years of updates and bug fixes on it... but it's my own fault for not thinking about it and checking first.  Just never imagined they stopped stuff like that; I'm not too savvy I guess. Anyway thanks for the help.

you're welcome.

but you still should be able to get all the updates for cs3 whether you're registered, or not.  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
