Hello
I currently have a majority of the CS6 programs licensed and operating fine on my current 2011 iMac running high sierra.I realize this setup /32 bit support is outdated however there is a few tools I find useful within the software and it is not used within professional context. It is helpful to have accessible for small personal projects.
My computer recently started to have issues, and I had considered migrating to a different computer that still is compatible with 32bit/CS6. When my software is running/open I believe I have access to view the original serial numbers. As it was all purchased some time ago and I no longer have it physically documented elsewhere I was hoping to find out the best way to verify my existing serial numbers and confirm compatibility prior to migrating devices.
Thanks!

migration is likely to fail. proper installation is needed.
to retrieve your serial number, https://mac-product-key-finder.com/

If you have access to the software it's also worth noting that once you have the required information you should deactivate your CS6 installation so you don't run into a device count issue on the newer installation. Also the Mac you purchase will have to be running OS 10.14 (Movaje) or earlier as with the Catalina (10.15) release 32-bit applications are no longer supported. These are typically going to be 2018 and earlier Macs based on the release date.
What tasks are you specifically looking to continue to do? There might be other alternative to consider that wouldn't limit you to purchasing a Mac specifically to run CS6 which could limit other software you can run.

Hi Ben,
I appreciate you taking your time to share your insight. I was somewhat aware of the deactivation prior to swapping so that confirmation was helpful!
I had somewhat of a grasp on the 32/64bit OS transition over the past few years within the Mac platform and was okay with the idea of keeping an older computer/laptop around.
My biggest uncertainty was whether or not the serial number that appears in each individual programs (help/system info) is the same serial number I would enter upon reinstallation. As they are older when I attempt to register them it did not seem to recognize the format on the modern adobe website/profile products.
Thanks again

if you have a suite, there's just one serial number for the suite. each app in the suite does not have an independent serial number.

Hello
thanks for taking the time to share that information and tool. I will certainly go the full reinstall route when the time comes.
Would the serial number accessed in the (help/system information) tab be the same number required to reinstall. I'm aware I would have to first deactivate my original device, but curious if there is a way to verify the number prior.
thanks either way!

there's no way (that i know) to verify the number prior to trying to use it and i'm pretty sure it's impossible to do. further,
eg, a serial number can be revoked by adobe. when that occurs, the old installations (that were activated prior to the revocation) continue to work while more recent activations fail.

Have you registered CS6 with Adobe? Maybe do that first.

registration of legacy app serial numbers is no longer supported/allowed (but, you're correct; there's no downside to trying).
