Just purchased CC and tried to download ID.  Kept on getting an error with Adobe application manager.  It would not install.  I have Windows 8 and already have Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 4 on my computer.

Hi kellyjaye1,

Please try to perform the following steps according to the Operating System you have.

Mac OS X 10.7 and later

  1. Remove AdobeAAMDetect.plugin from HD/Library/Internet Plugins/.
  2. Relaunch the browser.
  3. Go to https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.
  4. Sign in with your Adobe ID and password and download the Creative Cloud Desktop Application.

  Widows 7 and 8 (64 bit)

  1. Using explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe and rename OOBE to OOBE_old.
  2. Relaunch the browser.
  3. Go to https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.
  4. Sign in with your Adobe ID and password and download the Creative Cloud Desktop Application.

Im guessing he is getting the same error I am getting.  We just got CC yesterday and I cant download anything.  When I do, it seems to be trying to update the Adobe Application manager.  The message flashes on the screen too fast to see the entire message but its saying something about there already being an instance of Adobe Application Manager running and I need to close it first.  The instant that pops up, it goes away and tries to install it anyway.  When it gets to the end, it says it cant install it and to contact customer service.

Searching around the net, Ive found many others with this problem.  The common fix seems to be in the Process tab of the Task Manager, you need to shut down Setup.exe and ADApp.exe (I think that was the correct spelling) but I dont have either of those in the list.  Ive also tried rebooting the computer and also making sure all Adobe stuff is not loaded including Acrobat and a couple other Adobe looking processes that seem to always be running, no luck.  Suggestions?

Hello again!  Im trying to get CC on my other computer.  I got things working on my Win7 64bit.  I get the list of all the Adobe programs with the CC next to them.  I am trying to get CC on my Win7 32bit also.  I followed the steps above because I was having a problem getting the Application Manager working on that also.  I got it working and I see the list off all the Adobe programs but they are all listed as CS6 instead of CC.  Is this the same thing?  Im afraid any files I work on in CC will not open on those CS6 versions in the list.  I would think it would show CC on both computers?
