Have you tried the steps listed in Error "Adobe Application Manager is needed" | CS5, CS5.5 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-application-manager-needed-cs5.html?

Thanks for the quick answer.
Yes I tried the solutions listed. Installing The AAM is not working (thats what I did in the first place trying to first install the Application Manager)
I did the steps decribed under solution 2 and the output of the command was "2", which lead me to the last solution.
I tried the last solution (silent installation) and ran the Application Manager setup.exe silently, but nothing happens. I am asked to give my admin password but then nothing happens.
Or am I supposed to reinstall the whole CS6 silently? (It is working its just that I don't get any updates)
Thank you

Did you enter the admin password and then hit return? This often causes confusion when working with the terminal.

Yes of course I did

After hitting return I just get a new line in the terminal.

Which Adobe Creative Software do you currently have installed? If you are unable to currently install the Adobe Application Manager then we would want to remove the currently installed Adobe Creative Software. You can then follow this by using the CS Cleaner tool - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html and then run the installation again.

Its CS6 and I cannot uninstall it because for the deinstallation process on Win7 Adobe Applicaiton Manager is needed!!
Yes, I did try to uninstall it via the "Programs And Features Control Panel" but I just get the message that Adobe Application Manager is needed and where I can download it!

I also tried manually updating the individual programs by downloading the respective patches and running them. But also here the same problem: "Adobe Application Manager needed"
Can you please find a solution here.
P.S. I also found out that the Adobe Help Application cannot download manuals either. This is not a problem to me since I can read them online, but maybe this informaiton helps finding a solution

TobiK what error message do you receive when you run the uninstaller? Do you receive any error messages when running the CS Cleaner tool referenced in message #6?

Running the uninstaller I get: (freely translated from german:) "To solve the problem AAM is needed. The application is not installed or damaged. Download a new copy of AAM at... "
I didn't run Adobe Cleaner yet, because I thought CS needed to be uninstalled first, but I can also try that.

It is difficult for me to know what software you have installed which may face a dependency on the Adobe Application Manager. This is why I am recommending you remove all Adobe Creative Software to ensure it will not be affected by removing AAM and installing it again. Running the CS Cleaner Tool afterwards will help ensure that the uninstall process has been successful.

I don't want to run the Adobe Cleaner Application because I am afraid it might not work properly when the actual CS is still fully installed. In all the readme files it states to definately uninstall the CS first.
Are you 100% sure that I can run the Cleaner without uninstalling CS first?

Don't you understand my problem? I CANNOT unistall the CS software because for the unistallation AAM is needed!

No TobiK please do run the uninstallers first and then run the CS Cleaner tool. Please see message #6 for the steps which you will want to follow to completely remove the software.

I'm sorry to get a little unpatient, but could you please READ what I am posting: I CANNOT run the unistaller, besaue it tells me I need AAM (see post #10 and post #13!)

I understand that you are facing difficulties running the current uninstaller. Please check Programs and Features for any additional Adobe software and remove it prior to running the CS Cleaner Tool. My apologies if this was not clear previously.

OK, so I uninstall all Adobe products other than the CS6. Afterwards I run the Adobe Cleaner Tool although CS6 is still fully installed? Is that what you are saying?
Copy link to clipboard
Copied
Yes you want to run the cleaner tool after running all applicable uninstallers. If the installer is failing, as you have indicated, then you will want to follow up with running the CS Cleaner Tool.

Hi, sorry I was busy for a while.
That doesn't mean anything improved. Furthermore now Acrobat X Pro does not even open anymore, so I can't read a single PDF!!!
I really do not want to manually delete all the program files from my harddsik because I am afraid that after that and a new installation there will be even more problems and I wont be able to use any of the CS products anymore (so far its JUST the updates that are not working and Acrobat Pro).
So isn't there another way?
I really have to say that I am very disappointed that Adobe is not capable of giving some useful support for such a simple problem.

TobiK have you contacted our support team to discuss the issue with them directly as suggested in message #16? If so do you have a case number which I can reference?

I am also experiencing issues with this exact same problem. It all started when I was having issues with my Creative Cloud Connection and I had to try stuff with the OOBE folder to fix. Now my AAM is broken 'Failed to initialize' I have been through every step with support to try and fix it, but I cant get my AAM to work. Let me know if you find a solution.
