Can't uninstall Adobe CC

I installed Creative Cloud on Windows 10 for all of my CC 2015 apps and had no problem.  Worked on the apps without issue.  But then 2017 came about and I tried to update everything I had to that version.  But then Creative Cloud itself started saying there is a Download Error on the Apps screen and to download it again.  But when I do, I keep getting that error.  I try to uninstall manually through Programs and it only opens up Adobe CC showing me that same Download Error.

I have also tried the cleaner and that did absolutely nothing.  I can use apps, but when I save them and open them up again, it says that the save file is corrupt and won't open.  So now I can't use any app properly and I can't uninstall or install anything else.  How do I get Adobe off my system fully so I can start again?

Any help?

If you are unable to remove the apps or remnants left post uninstallation , you may use Microsoft Fix It tool :

https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed

You can try 2 method , if you wish to wipe out all Adobe folders and apps manually . or just Adobe Creative Cloud app related folders.

Method-1 ( Just Adobe Creative Cloud app - Recommended to try first )

This installation is no longer functional.

Method-2 ( Complete removal and re-installation of Adobe folders )

End all Adobe related processes from Task Manager,

Run Adobe Cleaner tool and select Clean all option ..

Important : Enable Hidden Files and Folders view.

Step 1)

You need to delete Adobe folders from below 5 locations  or rename it to Adobe-old.

  • C: > ProgramData> Adobe.

  • C: > Program Files > Adobe.

  • C: > Program Files(X86) > Adobe.

  • C: > Program Files > Common Files >  Adobe.

  • C: > Program Files(X86) > Common Files >  Adobe.

Step 2)

Press Windows button (located between Ctrl and Alt buttons) along with R button together at a time , you will get a run command window.Type in below command and hit 'Enter' key.

appdata

It will open Appdata folder .

You need to delete Adobe folders from below 3 locations  or rename it to Adobe-old.

Appdata> Local > Adobe.

Appdata > Locallow >Adobe.

Appdata > Roaming > Adobe.

Step 3 :

Click on the below link and download Creative Cloud setup file and use the same to install the Creative Cloud Desktop application.

Unfortunately I just tried removing the two folders.  I could remove the two folders once the CC process was stopped, but when I open CC up again, it's still saying Download Error.

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

remove the oobe and aamupdater folders

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud. (if you have a win os, right click the exe > click 'run as administrator'.

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials
