Can't update any AIR applications, get error

I have been trying to install some updates to AIR programs and applications I own and get this message:

=== error message ===

Sorry, an error has occurred.

The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author.

=== end error message ===

I am on an iMac running 10.6.8 and was able to install AIR 3.4 but it did not solve the problem. I also am a Creative Cloud subscriber. I have not been using AIR for the last 3 or 4 weeks and wonder if it is part of the bad Certificate problem. I read the Help and nothing has worked. Anybody??

Have you tried removing Adobe AIR using the uninstaller in Applications/Utilities?  Beyond that per the document I would recommend posting your topic to the Adobe AIR Installation forum at - http://forums.adobe.com/community/air/installation.

Jays999 please see Troubleshoot AIR installation | Mac OS - http://helpx.adobe.com/air/kb/troubleshoot-air-installation-mac-os.html to resolve your issues with Adobe AIR.

Jeff, Thanks for the help doc. I got this message from my iMac console app;

"The certificate of the installed app fails to match either the signature or migration signature of the AIR file. Installer end with exit code 9."

I did not find anything to tell me how to repair that problem, although I did uninstall and then reinstall AIR and got a successful install message. I saw two certificates in the AIR framwork file, and a bunch of others in my Keeychain. Could't find any for Adobe or AIR in specific, and the only expired cert was fron Apple and has been expired since July of 2012.

Any other ideas? Thanks again, Jay
