Can't update CS5 applications after HD crash and reinstall?

Running OS X 10.12.1 on a MAC Book Pro

I had a hard drive crash, Reinstalled CS5, inDesign, illustrator and photoshop seem to be running OK.

But, I checked for updates, Update manager opened and said there were updates for just about everything in CS5.

I clicked install updates and received an error message that the updates could not be downloaded.

I downloaded a couple manually, Bridge then Extension manager, to try to install them manually and am getting the same error after clicking the .dmg file and then clicking the AdobePatchInstaller.app -

“AdobePatchInstaller.app” can’t be opened. You should eject the disk image.

“AdobePatchInstaller.app” is on the disk image “AdobeBridge_4.0.5_mul_AdobeUpdate.dmg”. Safari downloaded this disk image today at 10:52 AM from www.adobe.com."

Choices are to Cancel or Eject Disk Image

I then decided to try the earlier update, "4.04" for Bridge first but it gave the same error as well.

I decided to try the Extension manager and got the same error.

SUGGESTIONS PLEASE

update by downloading the files directly and then applying them:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

I downloaded the files directly as you suggested but I evidently don’t understand what you mean by “ and then applying them”

After downloading I did the following

    1. Double clicked onto the .dmg file

    2. Double clicked onto the “AdobePatchInstaller.app

    3. Received the message below

AdobePatchInstaller.app” can’t be opened. You should eject the disk image.

“AdobePatchInstaller.app” is on the disk image “AdobeInDesign7_0_4Patch-All.dmg”. Safari downloaded this disk image today at 10:26 AM from www.adobe.com.

I had the options to Cancel or Eject Disk Image

    4. I also tried to proceed by Right Clicking onto the AdobePatchInstaller.app, selecting “Show Package Contents”, Opened the Contents folder and MacOS sub folder, Double clicking the AdobePatchInstaller file and received the same error.

    5. I could not figure out anything else to do.

What do you mean by “applying them” ???
