Question

Can you no longer buy the software outright?

My bosses will not approve paying a monthly or annual fee for software. I must purchase this outright or I will have to continue using my outdated software.

What are my options now? Am I now forced to continue using my outdated software? I have been slammed with CS6 Illustrator files lately that I cannot open. I am using CS5. I'd like to get the new CC but if I have to pay forever on it, my bosses will not approve. I am sure there are a lot of other companies that will be like this too and just keep using the old software. I am really missing Corel Draw now.....

Please help.

Regards,

David Jones

Monthly payments for Cloud software is definitely Adobe's future. CC and CC 2014 versions are only available to Cloud members.

However, at this time, you can stil purchase an upgrade to the superseded CS6

Creative Suite 6

Note that CS6 is no longer being actively developed so there will be no upgrades to CS6 other than possibly an occasional security update. CS6 is the last of the perpetually licensed offerings from Adobe.

Adobe has made that link redundant and it doesn't work anymore. I am a student and do not have the money to pay these fees monthly or annually and would prefer to buy it outright and have the confidence that I wouldn't need to pay anymore fees. It sucks that Adobe is taking this step because it would be much better for the consumer if software could be bought outright.
