Cannot download Adobe Air Runtime

When I go to this site: Adobe - Adobe AIR there is a Download Now button.

When I hover over that button, the associated URL shows as:  www.adobe.com (I expected the URL to be some address that would automatically start downloading the newest version of Adobe Air).

When I click the Download Now button, the adobe.com web page is displayed.

I tried three browsers (Firefox, Chrome, IE) ... same problem.

I tried two different computers (both running Windows 7 64-bit, with all Windows Updates installed except those just released on Nov 10, 2015) ... same problem.

I am able to download and install the newest version of Adobe Flash Player (which is a different URL than the URL for Adobe AIR which I mentioned in my first sentence above), but I cannot download Adobe AIR.

I think a clue to this problem is the fact that a generic URL (www.adobe.com) is associated with the Adobe AIR Download Now button.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks kglad.

On the page that you referenced, I am not quite sure which installer to download.

I am not a developer ... I just have a few Adobe products (Photoshop Elements, Premier) and want to keep AIR updated on my own PC.

I am thinking that (on the page you referenced) I need to select the item under Stand-alone Adobe AIR Runtime installer that is labeled "Download installer file"??

I curious, were you able to reproduce the symptoms I described ... i.e., the URL associated with the Download Now button on get Adobe AIR page is set to www.adobe.com ???

Thanks!

yes, that's the installation file.

and no, i see no problem at the main air download site using ff v 42.0

Thanks kglad.

Your response solved the problem ... in that you provided a link to the most current Adobe AIR installer.

However, I was still curious as to why the Download Now button on the get adobe air page did not work. I finally found the solution.

I am using the same version of Firefox as you (42.0), and your response that the Download Now button was working for you got me thinking. I first wondered if the problem might be due to one of the Firefox add-ons I have installed ... but then I remembered that I had the same problem with IE and Chrome (both of which have no add-ons installed on my PC). Then I remembered that I have a customized HOSTS file from this site:  http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

I took a look at the html source for the get adobe air page and and then searched my HOSTS file for any address with "adobe" in it. The process was trial-and-error, but I finally found that by eliminating this address from my HOSTS file ...

assets.adobedtm.com

... the Download Now button again worked as expected in all three of the browsers I have (FF, IE, Chrome).

Thanks for your help with the link!
