Hi
I just purchased and downloaded adobe illustrator and got error 'unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)' when i try to open it in windows, and if i click on the downloaded icon in creative cloud it will just hovers and i cannot open the application.
I am using windows 8.1 operating system.
I have tried many ways to try and fix this, re-downloaded...tried these forum post solutions, https://forums.adobe.com/message/9541382#9541382, https://forums.adobe.com/search.jspa?q=0xc000007b and other fixes on youtube videos and all have not worked.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your responses.....resolved.
After the various actions i took to try a fix, even updating windows twice. I did another windows update and this time windows wanted to do 90 more updates (ehhhh). 3 hours later.
I removed illustrator and creative cloud before updating and after the update it worked.
For future reference (others) Im really not sure what action really resolved it, updating windows 3 times in between was part of the solution though.
