I wonder if there is a Windows update, like Visual C++ that is required, but can't be downloaded from Microsoft?

Yes every Adobe premiere 6.5 comes with a key, and to answer your other question Adobe Premiere is a 32 bit progam, and will not work ona 64 bit syetem

Alex318,
Premiere 6.5 uses a 16 bit installer which won't run on 64 bit windows operating systems, so that's why your not having any luck getting it installed.
Premiere 6.5 would install on a 32 bit windows 7, but how it would work i don't know.
