CC app doesn’t load and makes my Mac almost useless

the CC app loads at start-up in my iMac, and yesterday I had to restart my iMac, but the CC app didn’t load and I had the spinning wheel like for 15 minutes until the dialogue box of repair showed up, after pressing “cancel” my Mac got so slow almost non-responded.  After hours of retrying and many hard restarts ( no good for the Mac ). I fiinalily could download the Adobe uninstaller and could unstall the CC app.  Then I try to install the app again ( bad idea ), it frozed trying to load the Adobe apps already in the iMac so I did another hard restar.  Now after the repair dialogue box it slows down so it don’t let me to run the uninstaller again.  Any suggestions, or I just keep trying?

I know my iMac is 9 years old and I need to get me a new one.  So now all I want is to uninstall all my Adobe apps (PhotoShop and Lightroom ) from my iMac and wait until i get me a new one.

Fcojt71, I am sorry to hear that you are continuing to face performance issues utilizing the iMac.  Please try booting in Safe Boot by following the steps listed in Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support .  Safe boot will disable any third-party applications or extensions that may open at startup.

Once you are started up in Safe Boot, then please implement the suggestions offered by Bani in post #1 of this public forum discussion, Fcojt71.

Hi,

thank you for the information.  The thing is right from the start the CC app takes over and turn my Mac so slow and imposible doing something else.  I did try to run the uninstaller right away from the start and i didn even finish the first step before it slow do and the spinning wheel showed up.

Hi Fcojt71,

As you have mentioned you are unable to uninstall the CC apps as the installers are freezing and the uninstaller is not installing, you may follow the manual steps to remove the CC apps given below:

Step 1: Disable all the security software’s installed on your machine, example: Firewall, anti-virus, internet security, system optimizer, browser security add-ons.

Step 2: Uninstall the CC Desktop app using the uninstaller given here: Uninstall the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application (You can skip this step)

Step 3: Using the Activity Monitor, force quit all the Adobe-related processes. See: https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT201464

Example:

  • Creative Cloud
  • Core sync & Core sync Helper
  • CC library & CCX processes
  • Adobe Desktop Common
  • Adobe Update daemon
  • Adobe IPC Broker
  • After this anything that says Adobe on it do a force quit for it

Step 4: Go To Finder > Applications > Utilities > Move to trash all the apps you no longer need like Photoshop CC.

Step 5:

  • Right click on the Finder icon and select "Go-To Folder” option.
  • You will get a text box, type-in ~/library then hit 'Return'. (Do not miss ~ symbol)
  • Then navigate to Application Support>Adobe (move to trash)
  • Right click on the Finder icon and select "Go-To Folder” option type-in /library this time and then hit 'Return'.
  • Then navigate to Application Support>Adobe (move to trash)

Step 6: Run the CC Cleaner tool to confirm everything has been removed: Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

***Note: This process will delete everything related to Adobe from your machine.

Once you are ready to install the CC apps again use the following link to download and install the CC desktop app: How to download Creative Cloud desktop app.
