I've been having issues in both Illy and InDesign for a long time now either crashing or endlessly hanging, and CC libraries not working.
I finally traced this issue to working on a public network. The moment I plug in my personal hotspot, programs and libraries open.
I'd love to know why I should not be able to use my Adobe CC products while on a public network.

How's your ntwork set up when on public networks? Probably a firewall turned on?

Firewall...so obvious! I've added my CC programs to my allowed connections. I'll test over the next day and report back. Thank you Monika ![]()

I added Illy, InDesign and Creative Cloud to my firewall settings, restarted the computer and tried to open Illustrator.
As per usual, I got the beach ball for a couple of minutes, and then when I plugged in my hotspot it opened immediately.
What else can I try?

I appreciate your response Monika. I've tried the troubleshooting tips in the link ad nauseam, which is why I hoped your idea about the firewall would work.
I consistently have trouble with Illy, CC, InDesign, and libraries. Often I cannot log into CC from a public network, just keeps logging me back out until I plug in my hotspot. I spent some time with a tech a while back, and after uninstalling, reinstalling, checking my settings, standing on one leg and saying "do-si-do", he told me that whenever CC has updates, I won't be able to use an unsecured network until I update from a secure network. But this isn't true, it happens even when there are no updates - frustrating because I work remotely a lot.
Sometimes I will be able to get Illustrator to open with a document versus launching from the app. Indesign will usually open, but libraries and often fonts are unavailable, then other times it just continuously crashes until I connect my hotspot, which fixes it IMMEDIATELY. I think you were on the right track questioning my network settings, but I'm just not sure where else to look.

Just to test this: when you turn off the synching in the CC app, do the desktop applications then work on public networks?
Also: are those specific networks? Like in the same 3 places all the time? Anything those have in common?

Ok, so syncing doesn't seem to matter, I paused and still can't open Illy.
When I work remotely, it's usually from the same place, a public library. I can't remember if this happens in other places so I'll have to do a test. Maybe they have some limitations on their network, however, I often use FTP from here with no problem. I will try to do a test from somewhere else so I can give you a little more info. Thanks again for your suggestions.
