CC - switching temporary download folder

Is there any way at all to switch the download folder of Adobe CC on Windows 7? I've switched the Install location and Folder location to my Applications partition which currently has 500Gb free but it's still insisting there's insufficient disk space because it's still trying to download it to what i assume is a temporary download folder on my C partition.

My C partition is intentionally set at 20Gb for optimisation and Windows takes up the majority of that so it's very unlikely that i'll be able to continue the download on that partition (it doesn't help that CC doesn't tell me how much space is actually needed on the C drive to complete the download).

It seems silly that i should have to merge a partition, download and install an application and then separate the partition again just because i can't change a folder location. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Hi Matts47072007,

The Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app can only be installed on your Primary Operating System drive (in your case C Drive) the location for it cannot be changed and it takes approximately 400 MB to 500 MB disk space after installation.

However, you can install the Creative Cloud applications (PS, AI , ID etc) on a different drive, to do that follow the below steps:

1- Open Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app

2- Go To > Settings Wheel > Preferences > Creative Cloud

3- Click on Default Location and change to any internal drive you want to install your apps to.

Hi Bani,

Thanks but like i said that's the first thing i did. I've been able to clear 3Gb on the C partition and the download (for Photoshop CC in this case) is still failing insisting there's 'insufficient space on drive C (-31)'.

The install location for the Creative cloud app itself isn't the issue here. Creative Cloud itself has installed fine, and I've changed the Install and Folder locations within Creative Cloud.

It seems there's some third temporary download location for the applications that defaults to the C drive. I'm presuming it downloads to a temporary file location on C (something like c:\users\username\appdata\local\Adobe...) and, once completed, shifts that to the Download location and then proceeds to install the application in the specified Install location. It's the temporary download folder i'm wishing to change. Is this possible at all?
