CC uninstalled itself

Creative Cloud magically uninstalled itself from my computer - all fonts from typekit are missing from my documents and it's asking me to reinstall the desktop app.

Any idea why or how this could happen? Seriously a PIA.

I've had this happen - CC was set to auto update (always keep the newest version of CC) option.

The first step in the most recent CC update is to uninstall the existing app.

If the new install fails (mine was due to IT security blocking the secure server) it will not install the new version.

Turn off the option to Always Keep CC up to date.

That's it! I recently turned on the option to automatically keep it up to date, so that's what it is. It was still installed but would not open, kept asking me to reinstall. Looks like all is right with the world now. Thank you!

did you check your file system to see if the cc app is no longer present?

It was an issue with auto-updates. All fixed, thanks so much!
