Closing the adobe installer

I have uninstalled my creative cloud app, and am now reinstalling it. I downloaded the installer and it jammed at 6% complete. Adobe says to keep downloading more installers to restart the process, but I can't do that since there is no way to exit the installer. I tried Command+option+escape but the installer doesn't show up in the list of running programs. My only option is to restart my computer, but that is incredibly annoying, with no guarantee that it will work next time I try to download the app.

Anything else I can do?

apply all possible steps

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)
