Cloud Desktop App is blank?

Community Beginner ,
Jul 07, 2013 Jul 07, 2013

Just updated the cloud desktop app and now it loads blank. I can't sign in or download programs anymore. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and still nothing.

How do I fix this?

Rename the opm.db file.

  1. Close the Creative Cloud application if it's running.
  2. Navigate to the OOBE folder.
    Windows: [System drive]:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
    Mac OS: /User/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE folder
  3. Rename the opm.db file to opm_old.db
  4. Launch Creative Cloud

Hi,

have tried this on OSX Yosemite without luck.  It recreates the opm.db file but the problem still exits.  Have tried uninstalling, deleting opm.db, restarting and reinstalling but still no luck,

Paul

@Ryno Bucket :

Could you please see if there is proxy set on your computer which is blocking communication to Adobe servers?

Thanks,

Sumita

Hi,

I am having trouble finding /User/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE folder on my computer. I've checked everywhere that makes sense to me. Can you assist?

Unfortunately the renaming of the file did not fix my problem. This was a first time install, so is there some other advice?

I have Windows 7 Premium.

I've tried all the following in the previous posts to no avail, except for creating new windows account. New account was the only way for it to work and I did not want that.

I finally figured out the root of all evil. The ampersand in Windows user folder name (not the Windows displayed user name).

If you have ampersand (&) or other non-alphabet characters in windows user folder name (Example: C:\Users\Bob & Mary), then Flash Builder will fail to install (happened to me), Creative Cloud will display white screen, and/or other miscellaneous problems.

I confirmed this to be true and works:

1) I had blank Creative Cloud window as shown in the first post.

2) I renamed the display username and window user folder name by doing the instructions here:

   http://www.ghacks.net/2011/03/28/how-to-change-a-windows-account-name-and-user-profile-folder-name/

(Example: Change from "Bob & Mary" to "Bob n Mary" - without the quotes)

3) After logging back in my newly renamed account, I opened Creative Cloud and login interface shows up! 🙂

HI,

I've been having the same problems with no luck. Then I tried uninstalling the Adobe Creative cloud installer AND then deleted not just the file but the OOBE folder and the AAMupdater folder. I redownloaded it after running the Adobe Application manager (that didn't appear to do anything) and on running the downloaded creative cloud installer it appears to work.

I have now idea why!

Hope this helps someone.

Mark

Just to augment this, in my case it was *not* sufficient to delete the OOBE folder in my user Library.  I also had to delete folders (Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdater and AAMUpdaterInventory and OOBE) from /Library.

Wondering why this is still occurring? Occasionally I have to do this to get Creative Cloud working again.

I'm having the same trouble. It used to be there and working, then I couldn't log in, so I re-downloaded the app, also tried deleting the OOBE folder (didn't find the mentioned files there, either), uninstalled the desktop app, then reinstalled.  When the install was finished it opened the creative cloud app, and that little circle is still spinning   No evidence of a way to sign in.  Where do I go from here? (Using Mavericks on Mac).
