Computer serial number

Why won't the Acrobat downloader accept my computer serial number?  This is a new laptop and I'm installing Acrobat XI for the first time.

    We can't know. You are not providing nearly enough info to even begin making sense. If you have serial number issues like it being invalid, contact support. For anything else we need proper technical info.

    I apologize.  I entered the correct Toshiba serial number into the Adobe Acrobat XI Standard Setup window and get a message saying the serial number is invalid.  Thank you.

    The Toshiba hardware serial number (presumably from your laptop) bears no relation to the software serial number issued by Adobe.

    Only Toshiba recognizes Toshiba hardware serial numbers. Only Adobe recognizes Adobe software serial numbers.

    Did you purchase Acrobat XI separately? If so, the serial number for Adobe Acrobat XI Std can be found by following these Adobe instructions
