Hello,
have an almost obselete Mac (OSx 10.6.3) which I realise cannot download CC due to OS issues.
After an extensive Google and Bing search, there does seem to be a Creative Suite 2 option?
Am happy to purchase CC and upgrade to a new Mac. However, seems daft (insane) to have an old mac, that's still in some sort of working order...but is not Adobe compatible.
Is there some sort of Adobe package, that not only has the CC option, but also a CS option for older macs. Had a similar issue when working in China, wherein, the only version of CC I could purchase (via the company I worked for) was a Mandarin (Chinese language) only version - and this was after upgrading to an all singing an' dancing iMac.

CS6 used to be included with a Cloud subscription, but not now
Adobe removed old links from public view https://theblog.adobe.com/changes-to-creative-cloud-download-availability
-also read https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-limits-software-downloads.html
CS5 and earlier was never included with a Cloud subscription
CS2 is completely dead... even if you could find a legal copy, it will no longer activate

Unfortunately that's the price to pay with Apple.

That what we formerly called a slave computer. Great for storing music, recipes and data files but not used much for computing. I still have one in my garage

Know what you mean...suppose computing is a bit master 'n slave. Particularly now the internet is like a morpheme to the masses.
Have found out - via a suggested Skype link - that these old slave computers can actually be uploaded with CS4...but at around 600 bucks.
Just like the idea of working on cartoon projects, that are not perpetually connected to the net.
Appreciate, for corporate work CC is ideal.

If someone contacted you by Skype offering to sell you CS4 they are a scammer and a pirate. Often these people falsely suggest they work for Adobe. ( Adobe never use Skype) NOBODY has genuine CS product to sell.

Too late. To be honest...did feel like I was being groomed - akin to lab rat the unpaid mystery shopper.
Had a marvellous (and yogic lovey) debate with what seemed to be a phone-jacker type...about CS4 and CC2.
At first, I got asked to send my password and ID details, and then...a comedic second language sales pitch.
Are these forums not monitored by an all-seeing modulator. A TKD referee even.
Strange that there's no call centre number for official Adobe products on the site?
Great wasp-mind! Why on earth do Adobe not provide CS as part of a CC package!?!
They're almost the same. One's on the net and one isn't. What...if I was in China or Cuba, and had to create an In Design spreadsheet for Unicef or Starbucks?!?
Was impressed by the Skype Adobe logo ID and VPN sat-nav (Broklyn NY) though...m'sure it the Adobe logo would look pixelated if printed.

Please be careful giving out your log in and account information to anyone outside of the Adobe.com system. It's a good way to get scammed or worse.
All Adobe customer support - including Adobe chat and call numbers are located here:

That's exactly what I thought too. First of all, was thinking...why on earth would Adobe request a Skype chat? However, there's little or no phone contact info - would imagine there'd be a big promo for call centre options: here's our number, please call if you are interested in our product etc...like with most international companies.
Did get through to Adobe China one time, but...like typed before...felt more like I was being tested for my IELTS (m'6.5 at the moment of typing) capabilities. And, within mainland China, the only option is a CL version...unless one purchases a full-on corporate package.
Adobe's certainly not Microsoft or Apple in the making - via ventute capitalist investment. It's a recognised brand, used for everything and anything design and arty - master n' slave pics, insidious, World of Warcraft cgi...all the way to them lovely collages and layouts them broadsheet newspapers punt out on a daily basis. I bet, even the Stabucks logo was recreated using Ai these days.
To be honest, I'm more of a Tetris graphics designer; than a full on prog and script writer. Did read 2000AD as a kid though.

It's not restricted to Apple. It's been an issue with all computers, regardless of platform, since they were invented.
A Windows computer of similar vintage with XP or Vista installed would be in the same position.

Yep. Starting to realise that these devices are not like pianos or guitars, although, my old mac's still working - after ten years.
Mysteriously went blank in arrival into China. But, to be fair...it's been all over the world with me. Wrote books on it, cartoons...even teaching lesson plans. So...still a bit attached to Marvin Gaye junior.
Had an interesting, if somewhat second language debate, with an Adobe reseller - based in VPN U.S.
Seems, it is possible to upload CS4, but at the same price as a year's subscription to CC2. Somewhat surprised Adobe don't offer earlier versions of CS as part of a subscription package, particularly as CC can be used on two separate devices. And, there must be at least 100 000 design studios worldwide that have old skool macs and PCs.

Adobe used to offer access to versions back to CS6 in Cloud plans until recently. In May 2019 that all changed. Google Adobe and Dolby to learn more.
Now it's only two versions back.

Windows is slower with those things. May be it has to do that Windows does not control the hardware and they need to keep a compatible environment longer. But yes, I still have an old license of Maya (and the original DVDs) that for sure would no more run on my current system, even that I have the hardware lock still in my drawer...it's date '99...only 20 years ago!
But other software still runs ...

There are a multitude of call centre numbers, because it's different by product, not available for some products, and different by country. The support page should take you to it, if available, but never says why it doesn't offer one...
Historically Adobe stopped supplying each product the very day a new version came out. This "allows them to focus on supporting the new product". Or focus on revenue. Or both. CC has been extraordinary, keeping up to six versions "live" but this has been stopped now, most products are back to 2 versions. InDesign goes back to CC 2014, but not the first CC version.
By the way, if you were contacted privately by someone (in the forum) offering a Skype call, and you still have their Adobe ID, please let us know so the stable door can be closed. So far as I know, nobody moderates private messages (and would it be right to do so?)

Tried the Adobe comment box. Seems to be a redirect from one page to the other and then...another, whenever I log in. Seems there no other option, and common sensei, but to subscribe to an online product.
live:adobecare - starting to feel like a Guardian journalist now.
Obviously, logged in to find out more about CS4 and CC2.
Makes sense for a company to keep the feng-cui going on with regards to upgrades. And yet, still feel that maybe keeping the previous versions available, would be good customer and consumer sense. Not many alternatives to Adobe, particularly in the creative world. Quark's a good example...and Flash an' Director have been amagamated into the Adobe franchise...bit like Xerox with Apple.
Sounds retorspective however, to bemoan a decent product with a multidunious array of features and apps.
Get ready! An upgraded Adobe Community experience is coming in January.
