Creative Cloud App Install error after suffering from Windows Update AutoRepair SrtTrail.txt failure

On Sep. 15 2018 I suffered from the notorious Windows Update Autorepair failure (SrtTrail.txt), which had thousands of victims.

I had no choice but chose to Reset my Windows. After that, all my programs were removed by the Windows Autorepair.

It spent two days to reinstall all my programs back, including Creative Cloud.

Although Creative Cloud could be reinstalled, none of the applications (e.g. Acrobat DC, Photoshop CC, etc.) could be installed correctly.

The error messages were as follows:

============================================================================

Exit Code: 7

Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting. For example, ERROR: DW003, DW071 ...

-------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------

ERROR: DW071:

ERROR: DW003: Third party payload installer Adobe Acrobat\Setup.exe failed with exit code: 1603

I don't understand what it means.

Need Help!!

Thank a lot in advance.

If that's the error code then try the below setps :

  • Set the full permission to Adobe folders to below locations

C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\

C://program data (enable view hidden files to see this folder)

C://program files 86x/

C://program files/common files

C: //program files/

Hello John, thank you for your reply.

However, the above link links to a page talking about install failure on photoshop lightroom 5 on Mac OS and it seems not related to my problem.

My problem is that after Windows Update failure and Resetting my computer, the applications of my Creative Cloud can no longer be installed, such as Acrobat DC. Maybe this is a problem about registration that Adobe cannot recognize me any more?? I have no idea and need help.

The error codes are DW071 and DW003.

Thank you, Shawn, that solves my problem. Thank you very much!

There is only one minor issue remained. I installed the Creative Cloud in a new folder to make it work. Now I have two Creative Cloud folders, one new and one old. I cannot delete the old one since it is locked and require permission of the administrator. But I am the administrator!! Any way to get rid of the old folder??

Right click on that folder > properties > security tab check whether you have full permission of that folder or not.

The other easiest way is by creating a new Admin account in your computer.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/4026923/windows-10-create-a-local-user-or-administrator-acc...

Then login with that Administration account and try to delete it.
