That was a very tactful way to say that, John.

what do you work for Adobe? no they should stop being nasty and just sell people the software...instead of locking them into year long contracts so they can keep charging your credit card every month. and the software is not all that...there are several programs esp in post production editing and digital effects that are better. Photo Shop is prob the only one that is better then most other programs , but the rest of that crap come on man its a racket and where i'm from only crooks set up rackets, real business are fair with their customers

We are not employed by Adobe, no.

It's not a racket if they are up front about what is being purchased. What about Caterpillar? They rent out bulldozers to their customers. Those are tools their customers need to do their jobs! Is it wrong that they rent those tools? I say no. I say there is nothing crooked about up-front business dealings whether it's sales or rentals.
I understand disliking the subscription model; making valid complaints about it is fine, but calling Adobe crooked is a bit much.

I'm not exactly sure I understand the issue here.
Are you saying you were told you wouldn't have to pay if you didn't use any of the programs from your subscription during a given month?

Dennis, my health club also locks me into a year long contract. I have to pay it even when I don't go to the gym. I am sorry about your frustration all the same.

I can understand the frustration with the subscription model, but if you stop and do the match, it does mean a savings for the average creative.

On the 1 year purchase plan, yes. That's exactly how it works. It's a 1 year commitment by you to pay the agreed upon price and Adobe to keep providing you with service at that price -- even if you don't use it.
The month-to-month plan (not available for all products & services) costs more per month but allows you to cancel whenever you like without penalty.
Or put another way, if you buy an iPhone from Apple on a 3 year contract, does Apple care how much you use your phone? No. But you still have to pay for 3 years. That's how contracts work.
And no I don't work for Adobe either. I'm just a long time product user and satisfied customer.

Sorry you feel so disgruntled about Adobe. But these tools have made photography where it is today. These are tools that Ansel Adams could only imagine and now for only $9.95 per month we can use them. No I do not work for Adobe, but I know the power of these tools and appreciate what they are doing. Sorry for your issues.

As a precaution when I recommend the Photography Plan, I put it as $9.95 a month/Annual commitment.
Same size font and perhaps I should underline that in the future.

Adobe is full of BS and reminds of the Mafia. Our company never received any warning notice of no file access and the was CC charged for the annual Feb subscription . We are now denyed access to all our files. My Company is in mfg medical device sterile products. Adobe has failed!! Time for a $4 million lawsuit for loss sales and reputation due to relying on their cloud IND for our labeling.

If your account is paid up, Contact Customer Care and explain the situation. If there is a misunderstanding, you can get it straightened out best if you do not get hostile with the agent.
