Creative Cloud desktop "failed to update (Error code 1000) - on Mac

For a while I have been unable to update my Creative Cloud app.

I'm using a mac [El Capitan OS X 10.11.3 (15D21)].

This is extremely exasperating.

Please help!

uninstall your cc app (you'll need to uninstall your cc programs first).

clean per Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

restart your computer

reinstall your cc app on a non-network drive.
