Hi everybody,

my Creative Cloud installation always quits with an unspecific error 1. Have tried several options:

  • Uninstalled all Adobe Products
  • Removed everything with the cleaner tool
  • Used a local admin account

Nothing helped.

There are some errors in the ACC.log:

[ERROR] |  | ASU | PIM | PIM |  |  | 4800 | Error occurred executing uninstall modifier at path: 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\IPC\customhook\AdobeIPCBrokerCustomHook.exe'. Error code: 2

[INFO] |  | ASU | PIM | PIM |  |  | 4800 | !isCoreSyncPkg returning PIM_STATUS_ERROR

[ERROR] |  | ASU | PIM | PIM |  |  | 4800 | uninstallmodifier of Package of file C:\Users\hr\AppData\Local\Temp\{2D0B02F2-9CC9-4CFA-9CD0-ED5D5801BD66}\AAM\IPC\packages\IPC\IPC.pimx. failed during upgrade workflow

[FATAL] |  | ASU | PIM | PIM |  |  | 4800 | package installation failed and the return code was 1

[ERROR] |  | ASU | PIM | PIM |  |  | 4800 | Failed to install with return code: 1

Any ideas what I can do?

Best Holger

Got it!

Here is the trick that worked for me:

- Uninstall all Adobe apps

- Run the cleaner tool (clean all)

- Check to have all Adobe services closed

- Delete the files in C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Temp (you can keep the locke files)

- Delete OOBE folders

-- I tried a new installation at this point but it broke again (see above)

- Install a CS6 test version (I was hoping that corrupted files would be overwritten. Where ever they were hiding;)

- At this point I had to install the application manager separately (don#t know why / downloaded it from Adobe)

- Install Creative Cloud App again

- Remove the old CS6 apps

That's it!

I hope that helps other people with the same problem. And thanks again to Jeff for his fast reaction.

Best,

Holger

Thank you for your fast answer. I have deleted the OOBE folder and created a new local admin but the error still occurs. The install process runs until 43% before it crashes with error 1.

The aac.log still shows errors:

Have no idea what I should do now. Is there a way to get direct support? My company pays a lot of money for adobe products and is not amused that they are not working.

Holger

Holger, sorry you are facing Error 1 while installing the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application.  I would recommend that you locate and rename the OOBE folder as discussed in solution three of "Failed to install" error received when installing Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app .

If you continue to face errors then create a new local administrator account and repeat each of the listed solutions under the freshly created account.

Please update this public forum discussion if you have any questions, Holger.
