Creative Cloud not working well

First creative cloud said it had issues, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it as it requested. Reboot. Then Photoshop got stuck updating and wouldn't go any further for hours.  So I uninstalled it and rebooted. Then Illustrator got stuck at 38% trying to update it, so after 5 hours I uninstalled it.  Then I got fed up with Adobe and uninstalled all the Creative Cloud apps.  But then guess what - it's hanging on uninstalling.  Rubbish. I'll do it manually through Windows instead of through Creative Cloud. Every time Creative Cloud wants to update it takes over my computer and everything slows way down.  This has been going on for probably a year, would be my guess.  Very disrespectful hog. Anytime my computer slows down I look and see, oh yes!  as usual, Creative Cloud is hogging all the resources. But this time you went too far, and won't even update. Maybe I'll calm down, or maybe I'll get rid of my subscription.  Definitely not worth the hassle.  Adobe's been around for a LONG time. Lost a whole day today because of Creative Cloud. You'd think Adobe'd figure out how to work on a PC with an Intel i7, Windows 10 Pro with 32 GB memory and terrabytes of hard drive by now.  But they certainly haven't.  Do I know for sure it is Creative Cloud...  Yes, when I go to Task Manager and remove the Creative Cloud processes, magically my computer speeds up!  Not happy with Adobe.

I had a similar issue.

Make sure that you have all Windows updates that are available.

The one thing that was causing it for me, believe it or not, was that I needed to do a clean installation of the latest Studio graphics driver from the NVIDIA website. After doing that and restarting, all was OK.

I uninstalled NVIDIA completely and did not reinstall it.  I checked and I don't know why it was on my computer, since my graphics card and monitors do not appear to need it.

I installed Photoshop and it installed and worked this time!!!  It also installed Creative Cloud.  

Then I tried installing Illustrator and it is stuck at 39%.  All other software still works.

So it doesn't appear NVIDIA really resolved my issues with Creative Cloud.  

Was Photoshop installed first and then Creative Cloud?  Is Creative Cloud still my problem?

Are you aware of any issues with AT&T Internet firewall that is in their router?  

I was unable to find a dlm.log file, I only found PhotoshopPrefsManager-20200309-223123.log  which indicated it installed properly... but I couldn't find any log for illustrator.  Still sitting at 39%.

So I stopped Illustrator and tried Premiere - it stopped at 44%.

Can I use the apps like Photoshop without using Creative Cloud app?

Yes. 

 

Another option would be to get the 2020 direct download links instead, which don't need or use the Creative Cloud Desktop app in order to install or run the main CC tools.

 

This has helped other folks in similar situations, when other solutions didn't fully resolve the issue.

first try, resetting the cc app: To reset the Creative Cloud desktop app, make sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

if that fails, do a clean cc install:

uninstall every cc app including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html
then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html
clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
restart your computer (don't skip this)
reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.
if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)
use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

I did everything above exactly as requested, including the cleaning, and multiple reboots at the appropriate times.  It appeared to have uninstalled everything. 

Then I went to the link you provided and downloaded the Photoshop install only and started the install.  It slowed everything down and calculated it would take an hour, but then went pretty fast until it got to 64.4% and then stopped progressing after about 45 minutes.  It's now been 2 hours and it hasn't moved. 

I look at resources and nothing shows as a problem - CPU 6%, CPU 23%, Disk 1%, Network 0%, GPU 4% with low power usage. 

Photoshop Install gives me no indication of any errors - typical of Adobe.  Just stops.  All other programs are still working, such as Chrome.  And they appear to have returned to normal speed since Photoshop install quit working.  Now what?

Processes, in order based on memory usage:  Google Chrome, Malwarebyte Service, Node.js, Adobe Installer (32 bit), Creative Cloud, Service Host: SysMain, etc.  then down further on the list is another Adobe Installer (32 bit). etc/. and further down is iCloud Services (32 bit), , etc., then Core Sync (32 bit), etc. then several Runtime Broker, and Adobe IPC Broker (32 bit), and way down is another Adobe Installer (32 bit), Adobe Update Service (32 bit), Adobe Notification Client (32 bit),  with CCXProcess, CCLibraries, close to the end, with many non-Adobe processes between these.  

Looking at Event Viewer, I'm not seeing anything concerning except the following:

3:54 PM a service was installed in the system:  Adobe Update Service

3:55:28 pm the application specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID...

and the same warning at 4:03:40, 4:11:33, 4:41:01, 4:50:48, 5:24:40

then at 5:36:03 The Software Protection service has completed a licensing status check.

5:36:34  pm successfully scheduled Software Protection service for re-start

I'm going to post this and then I'm rebooting once more.
